Plot

Fedele, a young Roman businessman who lost his elder brother six years ago, is hostage to an unstable wife and wealthy father-in-law who want nothing more than to be free of him. Purely by chance, Fedele’s family discovers that his deceased brother Vittorio is alive, healthy and a dancer in Cuba. Shocked but basically happy about the news, Fedele leaves for Havana to ask for an explanation and moral support from his brother. But nothing goes as planned and a “lovely soul” and two glasses of rum are enough to renounce home and family. Fedele starts over from scratch on the other side of the world, in the embrace of a Cuban mujer.

Review

Directed without vulgarity by Dario Baldi, this pleasant comedy is reminiscent of other famous comic characters venturing abroad (Sordi in To Bed or Not to Bed, and Gassman in The Gaucho), lacks bite in the script but boasts a winning Roman duo: Enrico Brignano, the new Rugantino, who continues to become more skilled and measured, and the funny Francesco Pannofino, who gives exotic lessons in amorality.
