Black dog is the signature of an arsonist who, from time to time, sets fire to a dumpster leaving a cryptic inscription: “Only the things that burn speak.” Apparently Commissioner Matteo De Rosa, who wears an earring and no tie – something that annoys the chief of police – seems to ignore the case. But in reality, for months De Rosa has been investigating a major drug trafficking ring between Russians and the local mafia, even though he has been toying with the idea of taking a much-needed sabbatical and is ready to quit.
