Plot
Florence, early seventies. Marco Baldini begins work as a deejay for a small private radio station while at the same time discovers the world of gambling on horses. After a first exhilarating win and payout, however, his gambling increases and he starts to lose more and more money. His radio work is noted by the producer Cecchetto, who offers him work at Radio Deejay in Milan, where he is teamed up with comedian Fiorello, and the duet’s show takes off. Unfortunately, he continues to gamble even as his debts continue to mount higher…

‘The Early Bird Catches the Worm’ brings to mind the madness of Jack Nicholson in ‘Shining’, shown here as an overactive mind, punctuated with jokes, but lacking reflection while trapped by his emotions.
