The gardens of Eden I giardini dell’Eden
Plot
The dark years of apprenticeship in the life of Jeoshua (Jesus) of Nazareth, from adolescence to youth until his thirties, when he began gathering his first disciples. It is Christ’s desire for self-discovery that leads him to God. Co-authored by the director with Miro Silvera and inspired by apocryphal gospels and historical evidence.
Review
This non-official history of Jesus Christ leans towards a “coming of age tale”, evoking strong analogies with the official story of the Buddha. (…) Despite its softer cut, parts (including the prologue) are reminiscent of the peaceful and meditative choices made by Bernardo Bertolucci in ‘Little Buddha’.
